Shannon Perry is a Christian speaker, Nashville recording artist, and so much more. With several ministries for women and teens, Shannon is reaching out and speaking to women everywhere.
Don't FlipFlop In Your Walk With Jesus
Do you know a teen girl between 13 and 18? Shannon's teen ministry combines fun and tools for teens to deal with the issues facing them in the world today. Topics include Body Image and the Store: The Truth Revealed and Finding and Following Positive Role Models.
Rosie is too young for this but I hope there will be something around for her exactly like this when she is ready! As a mom, you try to find the right balance between protecting your child and preparing them to face the challenges that you know they will face when they leave your side and the shelter of your arms. At a certain age, it's helpful for a mom to call in reinforcements and have someone else talk to your child about the values you hope you have instilled in them. Shannon has the exact message, I hope I will be giving Rosie in the years to come.
If The Shoe Fits
Shannon used a fun theme of shoes to create a theme for her women's conference, If The Shoe Fits. With topics like, Goody Two Shoes, and Lacing Up The Tongue, Shannon keeps her audience singing, laughing and most of all learning how to address the core issues that we, as women face everyday. In Lacing Up The Tongue, you can probably guess, Shannon shows us how the power of our words can be used to enhance or destroy those we love the most.
Remember when I wrote about Beth Moore and "What a Secure Woman Looks Like?"? Shannon speaks about how so many women are buying into the lies the enemy tells us, you're fat, ugly, too short, too tall, worthless. "My prayer is that these events would help women find truth for their lives so that they not only leave the conference changed, but their marriages, children, families, friends, church and world are changed..."
Shannon incorporates her love of music and her talents as a recording artist into her conferences. She has recorded a CD called, "The Real Thing "with the music from her conference If The Shoe Fits. How can you not want to hear a song called, "Bad Hair Day" ?!
