A great family and finding new ways to improve family life
It’s easy for me to get caught up in the latest tweet trend, or tv show. Since I started reading and writing blogs, I have learned many fun activities to get us up, out, and playing together.
Friendships that enrich life by sharing the good and the bad with love and support
I love making new friends - blogging is a fun way to do it! After meeting many of the bloggers, whose words I read daily, and listening to the speakers at Disney Social Media Moms, I realized how much I enjoy communicating with other women, other moms, blogging is a way to stay connected. And the occasional Dad, of course!
Like many moms, I left the workforce to stay home with my daughter. One of the things I miss the most about working, is the interaction with my friends. The day-to-day exchange of simple things, from what happened on American Idol last night, to a great deal on handbags at the Coach outlet.
Winning contests, free samples, getting the best value for my money
We all work hard to earn our money, and I feel lucky when I bring products into our home and don’t have to spend a lot, or many time, anything for them. It’s such a cool feeling to see $0.00 on the total line or get that email that says, “You Won!”.
Hearing about new products that allow our children to play and learn and finding new products to make our lives fun, productive or easier
With all the toys and books out there, how do you know what is going to help your child? I trust other moms. With all the products on the market (hey, coffee makers and vacuum cleaners for two), testing and reviews rock! I love reading and writing reviews that share real experience with a product.
Learning ways to move towards financial security
The first time I paid off a credit card, I would call the 800 number over and over, just to hear the mechanical voice say, “Your balance is…….zero.” Sweet! It would be nice if we didn’t need gimmicks to save money, but ya know, whatever works, and I need all the help I can get!
Okay, enough of all that, what about the dish? Personal details, who am I?
I’m married to a wonderful guy, Sean. We are opposites in a lot of ways and we have many discussions (not exactly arguments). Usually when we have a big decision to make, he starts at one end, I start at the other and we end up in the middle. Our lives have reached a balance because of this. The process is not always easy, but the result is good. One small example is that I am always late. Sean is always early. The two of us struggle every time we leave the house, but we end up…… on time.
We have a four year old daughter, Rosie. She is the absolute light and joy of our lives. Sean and I went years thinking that we would never have children…..then along came Rosie. She came to us through the blessing of adoption and I am thankful everyday, no - every minute, for Rosie’s presence in our hearts and lives. At the same time, she’s a very normal kid, at the moment she is talking non-stop, hardly even remembering to take a breath. One of the benefits of adoption, you can often choose a boy or a girl. It’s times like these, or in moments of high-toddler drama, that Sean reminds me that I wanted a girl. *smile*
One disclosure, I will always try to be honest in this blog. Our names have been changed for cautionary protection of Rosie. So if you see me at a conference, my name tag will say Kelly, but my drivers license will say something else. Kelly is the name I chose, my mom picked the other one, ha!
I love to write, well I use the term “write” loosely. I kind of talk in my head and type it.
Please share this journey, share your thoughts, ideas, feelings with me. I very much look forward to reading them and I hope you look forward to reading my posts. I hope we both will learn a little from each other and laugh together.
Kelly
