Build A Bear Workshops . To prepare for writing this post, I took my daughter, Rosie, to Build-A-Bear today. Even though we had her fourth birthday party there, Rosie's party was a little hectic. I hoped today would be an opportunity to spend more time to explore the store. I was once again blown away by the experience. We had received such wonderful treatment at the party and I found out that the staff gives everyone that special treatment! This time it was just Rosie and me and we went through a similar experience - choosing a furry friend, getting the amount of stuffing just right (with a test hug, of course), choosing a heart.... I don't want to spoil the surprise of the whole process, if you haven't been there yet, but wow. And we did take the time to explore the store and oo and ah over all the accessories.

I also went to the Build-A-Bear website to learn more about the company. I had met Maxine Clark, the founder, at the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration and was impressed her emotional attachment to her customers and business. The first Build-A-Bear store opened in 1997, but from Maxine's enthusiasm, you would think it was last week. Can you guess how many furry friends have been made at Build-A-Bear Workshops since 1997? Seventy-five million!!! Wow, seventy-five million!!!



I was pulling for Blossom - the new bunny for Spring - and Rosie chose her! Go, Rosie! No arm-twisting from mommy either, I promise! Rosie calls her, "my baby build-a-bunny". Too cute! I think Rosie's in love - with Blossom and with me. I got lots of "I love you, mommy" hugs today.
