This announcement came in the mail today and touched my heart. Ten years ago, in a former life, I needed to temporarily take time off from my job. My boss called a temp agency and they sent over a twenty-something young man to do the essentials while I was gone.
He had been wandering a bit in his life. Raised by a heroic single mom, he had already beaten the odds for a child growing up in a tough urban environment. I was blessed to be in a place to encourage him to go back to school and pursue a degree in Accounting. Accounting, as a career choice, was always good to me.
Fast forward ten years, to an announcement in the mail with a note from my friend - a true gentleman, "I wanted to thank you again for all of the encouragement you gave me throughout the years!" What a guy!
I'm proud to know him and lucky to be his friend.
It's graduation time of year - congratulations to all graduates!
Aww that is so sweet!

Too often people are jealous of their friends success, it is so refreshing to hear the complete opposite! Love your blog. xo
ReplyDeleteSaw your post on TOAK on switching to your own domain. I did it recently and was quite paniced and it went super smoothly. I expected to be without comments for weeks but they were all back within an hour. Good luck! My hubby bought a domain from some cheap host which I would NOT recommend b/c it was not compatible with blogger, then my website name was locked for 60 days and finally he transferred it to godaddy and it is fine. Email me with any Q's!
ReplyDeleteCongrats. It's always great when we touch someones life like that.
ReplyDeleteMy son graduates this year- yeah!
Terrible thing is, I know I'll embarrass everyone by crying!
Congratulations Carolee! I bet secretly everyone would be disappointed if you didn't cry ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Busy Working Mama! I will be in touch!
